The Blue Ribbon Foundation formed the T.A.G. Team to unite Fair enthusiasts with a shared vision of making the
Iowa State Fairgrounds an even better place. It was a simple concept; Together we can Accomplish our Goals.
The Blue Ribbon Foundation is once again seeking 100 donors eager to make an immediate, positive impact on our historic
Fairgrounds by supporting a focused renovation project. Listen up, because the 2025 project of updating the Livestock
Pavilion sound system is something everyone will enjoy hearing.
The Livestock Pavilion was built in 1902. There have been several improvements to the structure over the years including a
new roof, air conditioning, the wooden understructure and seats. The arena holds 2,000 Fairgoers and during the Iowa
State Fair hosts horse and cattle shows, dog trials, the FFA Parade of Champions, award ceremonies, Governor’s Charity
Steer Show, Super Bull Contest and so much more.
Updating the sound system in an old building is essential to meet modern standards of audio quality and functionality, while
preserving the building's historical character. Older sound systems often lack the clarity, range, and reliability expected by
today’s audiences, which can detract from the overall experience.
An upgraded sound system enables clearer speech ensuring all attendees can engage fully with events. Newer systems
are designed to work efficiently in challenging acoustic environments, which is common in older buildings where high
ceilings, hard surfaces, and unique architectural layouts often contribute to echo and sound distortion. Advanced sound
systems can be tailored to enhance acoustics without the need to alter the building’s structure.
By investing in a sound system upgrade, the Iowa State Fair can enhance a visitor’s experience and ensure the Livestock
Pavilion remains functional and appealing for all audiences.
For a $250 donation, only 100 donors will be accepted into this unique group. Your name will be listed as a key player in the
project and you will receive a commemorative pin to denote your membership in the 2025 T.A.G. Team.
